Sacrifice flies aren’t considered glamorous, but they sure can
be important.

Sheboygan A’s designated hitter Nohl
Depies hit a pair of big ones on Tuesday, sparking his team to a 6-5
victory over Appleton at Wildwood Park.

Depies’ first sac fly,
in the bottom of the eighth, tied the game at 4-4. His second, in the
bottom of the 10th, gave the A’s the victory.

“Gutsy
at-bats,” said A’s general manager Denny Moyer. “Really a
great job.”

Sheboygan committed five errors in the game but
found a way to win and improve to 29-17 overall and 18-2 in the
Northeast Wisconsin League.

Depies had three RBI and Ryan
Schmitz and David Novak had two hits each.

Starting pitcher
Bryan Dominick was solid, pitching 7-plus innings and striking out nine.
Lucas Wilson was strong in relief, pitching 2-plus innings and striking
out three.

Sheboygan hosts Kenosha on Thursday for Legend
Larry’s Night. Spectators who buy a beverage get three wings for free,
or they can buy three wings for a buck.
