Seven-Run Fifth Fuels A’s Blowout Win Over Kewaskum
Posted: June 24, 2025
A seven-run fifth inning blew the game wide open Tuesday night as the Sheboygan A’s rolled to a 13–2 victory over the Kewaskum A’s at Wildwood Park in Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League play.
Sheboygan set the tone early, scoring four runs in the bottom of the first thanks to three walks, a two-run single from Calvin Keesler, and a pair of bases-loaded free passes. A Kewaskum error in the second made it 5–1, but the game truly turned in the fifth.
Jimmy Juergensen doubled in a run to start the rally, Bradyn Horn followed with a two-RBI single, Riley Palmquist lifted a two-run sacrifice fly, and Connor Lasch capped it with a towering two-run homer to left — his fourth of the season.
Juergensen, Lasch, Horn, and Keesler each drove in two runs for Sheboygan, while Harry Steldt went 2-for-4 and scored twice. The A’s were patient at the plate, drawing 13 walks on the night, with four players reaching base twice via walk. John Hadley scored twice and stole two bases, and the A’s didn’t commit an error defensively.
On the mound, Jared Reklaitis started and went two innings, allowing a run and striking out three. Charlie Wahlen earned the win with two innings of relief, and the bullpen was dominant behind him. Brad Rindfleisch, Jack Poellot, and Michaelangelo Granella each worked a scoreless inning as Sheboygan held Kewaskum to just two hits. For Poellot and Granella, it was their A’s debut this season.
With the win, the A’s improve to 14–8 overall, 6–2 in the NEWBL, and 4–5 in the Wisconsin State League. They return to Wildwood Park Wednesday night for a Wisconsin State League matchup against the West Allis Nationals.
Wednesday’s game features Touch-a-Truck, presented by Hit Machine Baseball — fans can see construction and service vehicles up close in the parking lot starting shortly after 6 PM. Mini golf games will take place between innings for a chance to win prizes, and the first fans through the gates will receive a free hand fan, courtesy of Four Seasons Comfort.
