A’s Snatch Lead Late in 2-1 Victory Over Milwaukee
Posted: June 16, 2023
A bases loaded passed ball in the bottom of the seventh was the difference Thursday night as Justin Schnell (UW-Stout) scored to break up a 1-1 tie and give the A’s a hard fought 2-1 victory over the Milwaukee Heavy Hitters.
Schnell walked to start the inning. That was followed up by a single from Gus Walker (Marian University), and another single by Brady Zackrison (Marian University) to load the bases. With Harry Steldt at the plate, the fifth pitch of the at-bat found its way to the backstop, allowing Schnell to score.
The real story of the night, was the pitchers dual taking place between the A’s and Heavy Hitters as both starters finished with similar stat lines.
Sheboygan A’s (Brad Rindfleisch): 9 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 4 BB, 10 K
Milwaukee Heavy Hitters (Felix Santiago): 8 IP 6 H, 2 R, 3 BB, 9 K
The A’s will take Friday off before embarking on a four-game weekend set with the Kenosha Kings in Wisconsin State League play. Saturday’s DH will begin at 1 PM and will now be played at Wildwood Park in Sheboygan due to a field availability issue for the Kings. Kenosha will be the home team for both games Saturday. All tickets will be $5 regardless of seat, and there will be no game presentation. Sunday things are back to normal with the A’s hosting the Kings for Meijer Family Day and the A’s first ever Dad Bod Contest taking place between games. The 2023 season is presented by Meijer.
