A’s Split Four-Game Weekend Series with Addison

The A’s and Addison Braves completed a four-game weekend series with each team claiming two.
Game one went to Addison 11-8. The A’s then took game’s two and three by scores of 5-2 and 3-0. Addison took the final game 7-5.
After the weekend, the A’s find themselves at 8-5 overall, 2-3 in the Wisconsin State League, 1-1 in the Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League.
In game one Saturday, the A’s battled back from a 6-0 hole to score seven in the top of the fifth, before Addison would respond with five in the sixth. The A’s committed four errors and allowed six walks in the loss.. Saturday’s second game found the A’s once again in an early 2-0 hole, before tying the ballgame up 2-2 in the second, then scoring three in the seventh to break things open in the 5-2 win. Brad Rindfleisch pitched a complete game, striking out 12.
Sunday started off with Eric Zuberbier pitching four-hit shutout as the A’s blanked Addison 3-0. Harry Steldt walked three times as the A’s were awarded seven free passes via walk, plus another four via hit-batsmen. Sunday’s final game saw the A’s take a 5-1 lead into the fifth before another big inning by Addison doomed the A’s, as they surrendered six runs in the 7-5 loss. Brady Zackrison (Marian University) had a triple, with Jimmy Juergensen (Concordia University-Wisconsin) and Davis Wilson (Marian University) each hitting doubles.
Up next for the A’s is a trip to Burlington on Tuesday night to face the West Allis Nationals, then Thursday to Menasha before hosting the annual Wisconsin State League Challenge at Wildwood Park and Field of Dreams June 10-11.
June 10 is Scout Day presented by Bank First. All boyscouts and girlscouts in uniform will get a free general admission ticket to all games that day. June 11 is the second Meijer Family Day of the season, where kids ages 14 and under get in free, with player autographs available and kids get to run the bases after the final game.
