A’s Knock Off League-Leading Menasha

Spurred on by the voice of Wayne Larrivee, three A’s pitchers held a league-leading Menasha MACs team to just six hits as the A’s cruised to a 6-1 Northeastern Wisconsin League victory at Wildwood Park Wednesday night.

Ben Stanczyk (2-1) had another great start, limiting the MACs to three hits through his six shutout innings He fanned nine and walked one. Cody Giebling and Brandon Winfield finished up.

Tim Patzman Drew Pearson, Harry Steldt and Stanczyk all had two hits and Jon Capasso a home run for the A’s, who banged out 13 hits. The A’s evened their NEW record at 3-3 and went to 8-6 overall.

Larrivee, on hand to greet fans and promote sales of DaggerWear for the Make-a-Wish Foundation introduced the starting lineups and took a turn at field announcing.

The club now returns to Langsdorf League play with a game at Genoa City Thursday, before returning home Friday night to play Burlington on Think Pink Strike Out Cancer Night. Cancer survivors and those currently afflicted are encouraged to attend as are their family members and support teams.

Fans will be able to purchase pink wrist bands and stickers to show their support. Proceeds from those sales will to go local cancer centers.

The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League.
