Cody Griebling, who last pitched for the Sheboygan A’s in the 2008, will be returning to the club this season.
In 2008, Griebling was named the Sheboygan A’s Most Valuable Pitcher after going 8-0 with 3 shutouts, 2 saves and a 0.95 ERA. Griebling also threw a no-hitter.
This season while at Missouri Southern, the senior pitcher was named a second-team All-Region athlete by Daktronics and the Sports Information Directors of the South Central Region.
Griebling was a first-team All-MIAA pick as well this season, and was an honorable mention pick a season ago. Griebling helped the team to the third-best team ERA in the MIAA and led the league with 89 innings pitched. His 68 strikeouts ranked third in the league and the nine wins were second.
He ranked second in Division II with nine complete games which ties a Missouri Southern single-season record. In his two-year career at Missouri Southern, Griebling finished with a 16-8 record, with a 3.54 ERA in 29 appearances. He struck out 122 batters, walked 60, and had 12 complete games in 159 innings pitched, while holding batters to a .240 batting average.
