Each week leading up to the season, SheboyganBaseball.org will look at how some Sheboygan A’s alumni, and A’s signed on for the current season are doing in their collegiate and professional seasons.

Helena Brewers
Chad Pierce (2006) is in Arizona for spring training with the Milwaukee Brewers organization.

Pierce joined the Helena Brewers (Rookie Pioneer League) after the completion of his senior season at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee last year. Pierce could see action this year with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, the Class A minor leage team for the Brewers.

Valparaiso University
Kevin Wild (2009, 2010) went 7 innings for the Crusaders against Campbell on March 10, allowing the two runs on five hits. He struck out four in the contest, and allowed only one hit after the fourth inning.

Wild is 0-0 in four starts this year with a 4.50 ERA.

Missouri Southern State University
Cody Griebling (2009) improved to 4-0 on the season for the Missouri Southern Lions with a 5-4 win against Fort Hays St. on March 9th.

Griebling recorded eight strikeouts in seven innings pitched to earn the win. On the season, he has a 0.87 ERA in 31 innings. The Lions are ranked 24th in the country at the division two level.

University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point
Ryan Schilter (2010, 2011) was named to the inaugural D3baseball.com Team of the Week for his efforts in a doubleheader sweep against Gustavus Adolphus on March 4.

In his Pointers debut, Schilter hit .571 and slugged .714, going 4-for-7 with a home run and three RBIs. He finished a single short of the cycle over the two-game series, hitting a triple in game one and tacking on a double and a home run in game two at the Metrodome. Defensively, Schilter had 16 chances without an error.

The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. The A's have helped develop more than 43 players that have reached professional baseball, including 2002 World Series Champion Jarrod Washburn (Anaheim Angels).
