A’s Sign Four To 2012 Roster

Posted: March 1, 2012

Sheboygan pitchers Lucas Wilsing and Jake Ristow are among the latest to join the club for the 2012 season.

Wilsing was out of the area for the past two seasons, and the left-handed pitcher/first baseman is a welcome addition. In four seasons he posted a 12-6 record with a 2.26 earned run average, striking out 124 in 115 innings. In addition, he has a .319 career batting average in 116 games. Wilsing played four years at Upper Iowa University.

Ristow was 3-1 with a save last year, mostly in a relief role, with a 3.38 earned run average. The right-hander has four saves and 37 career strikeouts in 41 innings. Ristow is a member of the University of Wisconsin club baseball team.

First year players to sign in are infielder Trevor Theissen of Franklin and right-handed pitcher Ben Hylander of Sheboygan.

Theissen was a first team all-stater last year while at Franklin High School while leading Franklin to back-to-back state championships. He hit .450 in the Suburban Conference and .390 overall in his senior season. He was named first-team all-state, all-district, all-area and all-conference as a senior. Theissen is also known for his defense, as he set school record for most assists in a career and season. He was selected the Defensive Player of the Year three times. Theissen is currently playing at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Hylander, a Sheboygan Christian High grad, is playing at Trinity International University after getting much of his baseball education in the Perfect Game program.
