A’s, Bandits Tangle For Championship Glory

The Sheboygan A’s and Manitowoc Bandits will square off in the Northeastern Wisconsin League championship which will take place Tuesday August 9th to Thursday August 11th (if necessary).

Eric Van BeckGame one will be played Tuesday August 9th at Municipal Field in Manitowoc. Game two will take place Wednesday August 10th at Sheboygan, and game three (if necessary) will be back at Municipal Field on Thursday August 11th. All game times are slated for 7:30 pm.

The Sheboygan A’s and Manitowoc Bandits split their regular season series 2-2. Sheboygan won the first meeting of the year 4-3 in extra innings in Manitowoc. Manitowoc took the next two contests, winning 9-3 in Manitowoc, and 11-10 in a slugfest in Sheboygan. Sheboygan won the last meeting 5-4 in Sheboygan.

The A’s gave the Bandits two of their three N.E.W. losses this season.

These two teams met in the 2008 Northeastern Wisconsin League Championship, with Manitowoc prevailing in the decisive game 3 to win the championship.

The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. The A's have helped develop more than 43 players that have reached professional baseball, including 2002 World Series Champion Jarrod Washburn (Anaheim Angels).
