A’s Fall Again on the Road

Posted: June 14, 2011

It appears that the Sheboygan A’s are taking a page out of the Milwaukee Brewers’ playbook.

The A’s have played three games on the road and they have lost them all.

After losing a doubleheader at Appleton, the A’s returned to the Fox Valley Monday to play Menasha and suffered an 8-5 defeat at the hands of the Macs.

The A’s got out to a 4-0 lead in the game, but crumbled in the final five innings as the Macs put four straight deuces on the board for the win.

The loss leaves the A’s with a 5-4 overall record and a 1-3 record in the Northeastern Wisconsin League. They return to Northeastern Wisconsin League play tonight with a 7:30 p.m. game against the Appleton Legends at Wildwood Baseball Park.

Tonight is Sponsors and Friends night with the tailgate party for the A’s Benefactors beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Derek Peake with three hits and Tim Patzman and Greg Rhude with two led the A’s. Collin Weyer took the loss. The Macs, coupled with errors, a couple bad breaks, and some disputable umpiring joined forces and proved to be too much for Weyer to overcome.

The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. The A's have helped develop more than 43 players that have reached professional baseball, including 2002 World Series Champion Jarrod Washburn (Anaheim Angels).
