A’s Rained Out; Historic, Oshkosh Games Tonight

The Sheboygan A’s were rained out of their game at Manitowoc Wednesday night. No date for rescheduling has yet been set.

Tonight the A’s host the Oshkosh Giants at 8 p.m., following the historic baseball demonstration and game bertween the Greenbush Dead Citys and a team of Sheboygan physical education teachers. The historic game has been scheduled for a 6:30 p.m start, but fans should come early as the game may start a little earlier than that to accomodate the later game.

Playing for the city phy. ed. teachers are Tim Crowns, Fred Engelhardt, Christine Harrison, Kevin Herber, Kim Hotz, Michael Martin, Tanya TenPas, Peter Toutenhoofd, John Van Veghel and Chris Wright.

This weekend the A’s host the Lombard Orioles. Saturday’ 5 p.m. doubleheader is Sheboygan Oldtimers Night where the Sheboygan County Baseball Hall of Famers will be recognzed and Sunday is Sheboygan A’s Hall of Fame Day when Dick Rasmussen will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. The ceremonies will take place between gmes of the doubleheader that begins at 1 p.m.

A’s fans should know that the club is holding a team apparel clearnce sale this weekend. Outdated souvenir clothing will be sold at hugely discounted prices. Included in the sale will be shirts commemorating the team’s championship years along with old, unused team batting practice shirts.

The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. The A's have helped develop more than 43 players that have reached professional baseball, including 2002 World Series Champion Jarrod Washburn (Anaheim Angels).
