NEW Stars Win; A’s Home This Weekend

The Northeastern Wisconsin League made itfour straight over the Frank Langsdorf League of Southeastern Wisconsin with a 4-1 win in the All-Star Game played at Wildwood Park Friday night.

Sheboygan A’s players played big roles in the victory. Outfielder Doug Dekoning drove in two runs with sacrifice flies, and Eric Van Beck pitched two 1-2-3 innings to start the game and earn the win Ryan Schilter had a base hit and Taylor Schwarz scored a run. A’s manager Chad Gehr and coach C. J. Skelton were on the coaching lines.

In addition, Sheboygan’s Cody Marshall hit nine home runs to nip Doug Coe of Green Bay in the pre-game home run derby.

Today the A’s host Elmhurst in a 6 p.m. doubleheader and tomorrow they entertain the Chicago Wildcts in a 12 noon twin bill. The games are part of the Chicago Suburban League Challenge and count in the Wisconsin State League standings. This evening’s contest is Nine 21 Pulled Port Night and Sunday is Hops Haven Pier 96 Lager Day.

The A’s go into the weekend with a 17-10 record.

The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. The A's have helped develop more than 43 players that have reached professional baseball, including 2002 World Series Champion Jarrod Washburn (Anaheim Angels).
