A’s Win at Oshkosh, Host Menasha Tonight

Cody Marshall hit a 3-run home run in the middle of a 5-run fourth inning that sparked the Sheboygan A’s to a 10-3 win over the Oshkosh Giants at Oshkosh’s E.J. Schneider Field Tuesday night.

Marshall added a run-scoring double in the seventh for a 4-RBI night. Matt Schilter drove in three runs with a single and a double and Alex Erdman drove in a run with two hits.

Eric Van Beck ran his record to 5-0 with six strong innings. He was nicked for eight hits, but gave up only one earned run and struck out nine. Kevin Wild got a save with three innings of relief.

The win puts the A’s at 17-19 overall, 6-4 in the Northeastern League and 5-7 in the State League.

The club hosts the Menasha Macs in another big Northeastern game tonight at Wildwood Park. Game time is 7:30. It is Thrivent Food Pantry Night and fans are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for the food drive.

Friday night is the Northeastern Wisconsin League / Langsdorf League of Southeastern Wisconsin All-Star Game at Wildwood Park. The home run contest starts at 6 and the game at 7:30 p.m.

Representing the A’s on the all-star team are infielder Taylor Schwarz, outfielder Doug Dekoning, catcher Ryan Schilter and pitcher Eric Van Beck. Cody Marshall is the A’s representative in the home run derby.

The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. The A's have helped develop more than 43 players that have reached professional baseball, including 2002 World Series Champion Jarrod Washburn (Anaheim Angels).
