Following a Saturday split at Eau Claire, the Cavaliers swept Sunday’s doubleheader from the light-hitting Sheboygan A’s by 6-0 and 8-1 scores to take the weekend series three games to one.

The A’s had won Saturday’s opener by a 3-0 score and Eau Claire took the second game 7-3.

Eau Claire’s Japanese import Joshinori Machida shut the A’s out on four hits in the first game. Only two A’s got as far as second base in the game. Jack Larsen was the loser.

The A’s managed only one first inning run in the second game as they were limited to five hits by Eau Claire’s staff. T.J. Wink got the win for the Cavaliers with Chevy Tollefson taking the loss.

On Saturday, Eric Van Beck threw a four hitter to get the A’s their only win of the weekend. Doug Dekoning’s 2-run double was the game’s big hit. Eau Claire roughed up the A’s pitching for a dozen hits in the second game for their 7-3 win. Jack Archie took the loss.

The A’s travel to Manitowoc Tuesday and then host league leading Kenosha Wednesday. Kenosha swept the weekend, beating Manitowoc 11-0 and 5-0 on Saturday and topping Oshkosh 5-0 and 5-3 on Sunday.

The A’s are 13-8 for the season and 3-6 in the State League.
