Lightning flashes in Kenosha caused umpires to put an end to the Sheboygan A’s-Kenosha Kings game at KenoshA’s Simmons field Monday night.

The A’s trailed 3-1 when umpires pulled the players of the field in the eighth inning. The game will be resumed on July 13 when the A’s return to Kenosha. The jinxed game was originally scheduled to be played June 9, but was rained out that night, too.

Chevy Tollefson pitched 7 2/3s innings of strong baseball, surrendering single runs in the first, third and seventh innings.

Ross Fassbinder drove in the A’s only run and Jared Fon has a 2-hit game going.

The A’s are at home Wednesday and Thursday this week, hosting Denmark and Manitowoc respectively. Then they hit the bus for their second consecutive 4-game road weekend, this time in Eau Claire.

The A’s welcome Shorewest Realty and National Mutual Benefit to the park Wednesday and the Charter Communications people on Thursday.

The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. The A's have helped develop more than 43 players that have reached professional baseball, including 2002 World Series Champion Jarrod Washburn (Anaheim Angels). All Sheboygan A's home games are played at Wildwood Baseball Park in Sheboygan. Connect with the A's on FacebookTwitterInstagram and YouTube.
