Oshkosh Shuts Out A’s

Posted: July 31, 2009

The Sheboygan A’s managed only five hits off Oshkosh Giants pitcher Luke Westphal, and the defense didn’t help matters in a 7-0 loss at Wildwood Park on Thursday.

Bryan Dominick went five innings for Sheboygan (32-21), allowing 10 hits and five runs, all unearned as the A’s committed two costly errors.

Mitchell Gardner and Ryan Schilter (who pitched for West Bend West at the WIAA State Summer Baseball Tournament on Wednesday) finished off the game on the mound for Sheboygan.

Taylor Schwarz had two hits for Sheboygan, which hosts the Howards Grove Riverdogs tonight at 7:30 p.m. in a rain make-up game.

The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. The A's have helped develop more than 43 players that have reached professional baseball, including 2002 World Series Champion Jarrod Washburn (Anaheim Angels).
