A’s top Macs, force Game 3

Knotted up at 0-0, the Sheboygan A’s scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to defeat the visiting Menasha Macs on Saturday night by a score of 4-0 in Game 2 of the best-of-three Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League championship series.
The Macs won Game 1 in Menasha on Friday night 4-1. The decisive Game 3 will be today at noon in Menasha.
In the eighth, Chad Langley hit a two-run single to make it 2-0.
Sam Mattheis then hit an RBI single to left field to make it 3-0 and a Frankie Pietrantonio single drove in the final run for Sheboygan.
Prior to the championship series the A’s (37-24 overall) had two wins (9-3 and 6-0) and two losses (5-0 and 6-4) against Menasha in the regular season.
The two teams have been battling since 1967, with the A’s holding a 79-57 advantage.
The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. The A's have helped develop more than 43 players that have reached professional baseball, including 2002 World Series Champion Jarrod Washburn (Anaheim Angels).
