A’s fall to the Bobcats
Posted: June 6, 2012
Once again unable to deliver key hits, the Sheboygan A’s squandered gutsy pitching performances by Brandon Winfield and Sam Raff and dropped a 3-2 decision to the Bobcats at Kenosha Tuesday night.
Despite missing key players, the A’s took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a hit batsman, double by Drew Pearson and a 2-out clutch single by Matt Bromley.
Unfortunately that would be the last clutch hit of the day as, after Kenosha took a 3-2 lead, the A’s left runners on second base with only one out in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings.
Equally unfortunate was that the hit batsman was Jon Capasso, who was forced to leave the game with an elbow injury.
Winfield, who pitched the first five innings, took the loss. Raff pitched three scoreless innings.
Off today, the A’s go back to Kenosha Thursday to play the Kings, then head for Green Bay Friday and Appleton for a doubleheader Saturday. Ben Stanczyk is scheduled to pitch Thursday, Mitch Gardner Friday and Dillion Engle and Jake Schaefer Saturday.
