The Sheboygan A’s welcomed the Chicago Clout to Wildwood Park on Saturday afternoon for a two-game non-league doubleheader. Chicago took game one 6-2 but the A’s bounced back in game two with a 5-3 victory.

The short-handed A’s got three hits from Brad Rindfleisch in the first game, including a double. The fourth inning doomed the A’s when the club committed several errors on defense that allowed Chicago to plate five of their six runs in the inning. Dylan Davis started on the mound, going six innings, surrendering nine hits, striking our four and walking two. David Vanic pitched one inning of relief.

Bradyn Horn had three hits in game two, including a triple, and pitcher Shaun Gavin hit a solo home run as the A’s rebounded in game two. Jared Reklaitis pitched a complete game, striking out eight over his seven innings of work.

The A’s begin a crucial stretch of Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League games on Monday at home against Menasha. The A’s are vying for the NEWBL regular season championship and a bye into the playoff championship best-of-three series.
