Things started off good in Tuesday night’s affair between the Sheboygan A’s and Kewaskum A’s. The game was all tied up 0-0 a third of the way through the contest as both teams were trying to get their offense going in an important game as Sheboygan looked to keep pace at the top of the league standings, while the defending NEWBL champions were looking to start a climb out of the cellar of the league’s standings.
Then Kewaskum started to get things going. Sheboygan, did not.
The Kewaskum A’s scored 16 runs over the games final six innings to crush Sheboygan Tuesday night 16-2.
The A’s pitching staff struggled mightily. While they did strike out 13, they also allowed 12 free base runners via 11 walks and a hit batsmen, and 14 base hits as an 0-5 Kewaskum club looked nothing like a team that had struggled up till this point of the season.
Meanwhile, the A’s offense also failed to produce, registering just three hits and getting just two free passes.
The A’s, who played their 13th game in the last 11 days, have one more game Wednesday night before a much welcomed two-day break when the host the Milwaukee Heavy Hitters at 7:30 PM. Cars from the Plymouth Dirt Track racing circuit will be on display in the parking lot before the game, starting around 6 PM. Fans can also enjoy $1 hot dogs and $1 sodas during the game.
