Jarrod Washburn

1994

Jarrod Washburn, who pitched for the 2002 World Series Champion Los Angeles Angels in Game 1 and Game 5, played for the Sheboygan A's in 1994.

"At that time, I was just a young kid still learning how to pitch and I had a lot of learning left to do," said Washburn. "I didn't have very good command of the strike zone back then, so the more times you get to go out on the mound and work on the things that you're working on mechanically and mentally and things like that, the better off you are."

Jack Taschner

1997

Jack Taschner, another former A's pitcher who played six seasons in the majors and played for the A's in 1997, remembers a great fan base in Sheboygan.

"We always had a pretty good amount of people in the stands for our games there," said Taschner. "It was a big stepping stone for me. We don't have the brat fries afterward or whatever else we did in Sheboygan, but I miss that stuff."
