A’s Unable to Overcome Early Deficit Against Nationals
Posted: June 18, 2024
The Sheboygan A’s fell 5-3 to the West Allis Nationals on Monday.
The loss drops them under .500 in the Wisconsin State League as they’ve dropped their last three in WSL play. They stand at 3-4 in the league.
The Nationals took an early lead in the bottom of the third inning, scoring four runs on a series of hits and a groundout.
Jacob Neese provided a spark to the offense in the fifth, hitting a double to left that scored two. This came one pitch after Harry Steldt got the A’s on the board with a sac-fly to center. Up until that point, the A’s offense hadn’t scored in 11 innings, but it would be the only offense the A’s would get Monday night.
The Nationals would tack on an insurance run in the seventh.
Brad Rindfleisch started on the mound for the A’s, delivering a solid performance with eight strikeouts and two walks over eight innings.
The A’s switch gears back to the Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League Tuesday night as they host Kewaskum at 7:30 PM. It’s Touch-A-Truck presented by Hit Machine Baseball with construction and service vehicles on display pre-game starting around 6:15 PM. Tickets are on sale now.
