Late Lead Slips Away for the A’s

Posted: June 4, 2021

For the second time in a row on the road, the Sheboygan A’s needed three outs to get on the bus and go home a winner. For the second time in a row they couldn’t do it.

On Monday night in Green Bay, they led, 11-10, going into the bottom half of the 12th inning, and lost, 12-11.

Last night in Burlington, they led West Allis 6-5 going into the bottom of the ninth, and lost, 7-6.

Three A’s home runs went for naught, two by Harry Stedt and another by Jacoby Endreas.

Behind strong pitching by Noah Imrie and Mac Doherty, the A’s took a 6-5 lead into the ninth. Brian Huntzinger’s lead-off home run tied it in the bottom of the ninth and it ended 7-6 when, after a walk and a couple hits, the A’s were a hair short of executing a double play.
