Menasha Rallies to Top A’s 10-8

Posted: July 7, 2020

Eight runs will win a lot of games for you, except on those nights when you give up 10.

The Menasha Macs scored three runs after two were out in both the fourth and sixth innings en route to a 10-8 win over the Sheboygan A’s in Menasha Monday night.

The loss puts the A’s at 1-2 in the Northeastern Wisconsin League and 3-4 overall. They play the West Allis Nationals tonight at Wildwood Park. The game will count in the standings of both the Wisconsin State League and the Northeastern Wisconsin League.

The A’s took a 3-0 lead in the top of the third with Josh Moses and Harry Steldt singling in runs. Moses left the game after that hit with a hamstring injury. Menasha erased that lead with a run in the third and after two outs, three more in the fourth.

The A’s regained the lead, 7-4, with a 4-run fifth inning, but that would be their last lead as Menasha outscored the A’s, 5-1 the rest of the way.

Moses and Jimmy Juergensen led the A’s with a single and a double.

The 2020 season, presented by Meijer, resumes tonight at 7:30 PM. The A’s also host Greater Green Bay Wednesday night, hit the road to Kewaskum Thursday, then host Kenosha Saturday in an afternoon doubleheader.
