Appleton Ends A’s Streak, 10-4; NEWBL Playoffs Up Next

Posted: July 31, 2015

The  Appleton Legends
used five walks to score four runs in the third inning and wrestled a lead away
from the  A’s. The A’s never recovered, never regained the
lead and lost the regular season finale to the Legends, 10-4.

Next up for the A‘s is the
Northeastern Wisconsin League playoffs. The A’s will most likely meet the Appleton Legends again in their first
playoff game Tuesday night at Wildwood Park. Appleton has the three seed and opens against Manitowoc. Oshkosh hosts Green Bay in the other opener
with the winner playing at Menasha.

Hayden Fenner had a pair
of doubles and Blake Fleischman a home run to lead the A’s at the plate, but it
was far from enough for the club that was listless and flat last night after
winning seven straight and 12 of their last 15. Mark Wallace took the loss.

The A’s enter the playoff
with a 32-16 overall record. The first 100 fans through the gates on Tuesday will receive a Sheboygan A’s rally towel, courtesy of Mountain Promotions.
