A’s Pound Out 14 Hits In Win Over Green Bay
Posted: July 8, 2014
A 7-run inning,
14 total hits and strong play in every aspect gave the Sheboygan A’s an 11-1
victory over the Green Bay Storm at Wildwood Park Monday night.
The win puts the A’s at
5-2 in the Northeastern Wisconsin League and 20-9 overall.
The club returns to
Wildwood tonight to take on upstart Oshkosh. Tonight is Golf Night.
Persons who show a golf scorecard at the gate will be admitted without charge
and a host of golf related prizes will be given away. First pitch is 7:30 p.m.
After Green Bay
centerfielder Brown led off game with a walk, A’s starter Bryrce Taylor retired
the next five hitters to set up his club’s game-deciding
third inning. The Hammer-dropper started innocently enough with a popup back to
the pitcher, but then Eric Solberg and Harry Steldt hit back-to-back doubles
for a 1-0 A’s lead. Then came out number two, but after that Green Bay couldn’t
get the third out as the A’s offense went into high gear. Highlights from the inning were a two run triple by Colin Willis and a home run by Harry Steldt.
Taylor gave up one run and
four hits in his 6-inning stint. He
finshed with eight strikeouts.
