A’s Sweep Addison

The Sheboygan A’s ran their record to 19-8 overall and
10-4 in the Wisconsin State League sweeping their4-game series with the Addison
Braves.  The A’s took Sunday’s twin bill
by 7-1 and 9-1 scores after recording 2-0 and 10-0 shutout wins on Saturday.

Saturday’s 2-0 win came on
a no-hitter by Taylor Schwarz. Eric Schmitz spun the 10-0 shutout. Eric Solberg
had a single, double and triple and Cole Miklavcic two singles and a triple.

While pitchers dominated  Saturday, the A’s bats came alive on Sunday.

The A’s hit Addison with
six runs in the first inning of game one and cruised to the win. A Jake Perez double
 and a Ben Gordon single each drove in
two runs in the inning.

Bryce Taylor threw to take
the win. He yielded five hits in six innings of work and struck out a pair.

Addison took a 1-0 first
inning lead, but  Miklavcic’s double,
Colin Willis’ single, sacrifice flies by Eric Solberg and Harry Steldt gave the
A’s a 3-1 lead after three innings.

Perez second home run of
the game, a 3-run blast, highlighted the game-deciding 6-run sixth inning.

Perez with his two home
runs, Willis with three hits including a double and stealing three bases, and
Miklavcic  with a single and double led
hitting.

Rob Hagedorn was the
winning pitcher, allowing one unearned run on two hits through five inning.

The A’s are at home
Tuesday and Wednesday this week with Bourbon Street Pub’s Fat Tuesday
celebration scheduled for Tuesday and Sponsors Night on Wednesday.

The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. The A's have helped develop more than 43 players that have reached professional baseball, including 2002 World Series Champion Jarrod Washburn (Anaheim Angels).
