Posted: June 20, 2013
OSHKOSH – After suffering tough losses in their last five games, the Sheboygan A’s finished on the top side in another tough one last night.
The A’s beat the Oshkosh Giants 5-3 when Chad Langley delivered a long two-out double to drive in two runs in the 11th inning. It came after a dramatic 3-run ninth inning tied the game.
Taylor Ditter gave the A’s another good start, but Oshkosh combined four singles, an error and a sacrifice fly to score three fifth inning runs.
Langley led off the ninth with a base hit and after an out moved to third on Taylor Schwarz’ double. Sam Mattheis followed with a base hit to score Langley and Jeremy McCarty cracked another single to score Schwarz. Dan Barwick walked to load the bases and then Harry Steldt coaxed another walk to force in Mattheis with the tying run.
Max Kramsky followed Ditter to the mound and threw five shutout innings.
His teammates made him a winner in the 11th, when after one out, Barwick and Steldt singled. After another out, Langley stepped in and smashed a long double to deep center field to chase both Barwick and Steldt home.
Kramsky threw a 1-2-3 bottom of the 11th and the A’s headed home with a win.
Langley had three hits for the night; Barwick, Schwarz, Mattheis and McCarty all two.
The A’s are in Green Bay tonight before returning home for the weekend.
They entertain Manitowoc in the prize-filled Bud Light Night game Friday night, then host Eau Claire for four over the weekend. Saturday night is Cancer Awareness Night and Sunday afternoon is Labor Day.
