Jason Bischoff Hall of Fame Induction Saturday

Strong-armed power-hitting outfielder Jason Bischoff, who helped the Sheboygan A’s to championships in 1997 and 2000 will be inducted into the Sheboygan A’s Hall of Fame this Saturday night, June 15. The ceremony will take place at Wildwood Baseball Park between games of the A’s-Lombard Orioles doubleheader.

The defending Wisconsin State League champion Orioles are in town for a 4-game weekend. Saturday’s doubleheader begins at 5 p.m., Sunday’s at 1 p.m. It is a busy weekend for the A’s, who also host the Genoa City Red Dogs tonight at 7:30 p.m.
Bischoff becomes the 25th player inducted since the hall was inaugurated in 1993.
He was the club’s most valuable player in 2002 when he hit .346 with 17 home runs, 14 doubles, and 143 total bases. Only Gene Mand with 18 in 1985 hit more home runs in a season than Bischoff.
Bischoff, who played in 415 games in his 8-year career, ranks the top 10 in nearly every offensive career category, including ranking sixth in runs batted in, doubles, home runs and total bases.
His best years were his last two, 2001 and 2002. He hit .343 and .340 with a combined total of 36 doubles and 30 home runs.
In 2002, he led the team in games played, 66, a club record he shares with Randy Wilke; plate appearances, 276; runs scored, 68; home runs, 17; total bases, 143; slugging percentage (for the second straight year), .675.
One of his most remarkable statistics and a testament to his strong arm are his 58 outfield assists and the 16 double plays in which he participated.
He was elected to the all-Wisconsin State League team three times.
“This is really great,” Bischoff said when told of his election. “First, it is a privilege to play with the A’s, the hometown team you followed as a kid, and then to get this honor is really something.
Bischoff joined the A’s in 1995 after an outstanding career at South High School, where he was a 2-time all-conference player and with the Sheboygan Legion. He had some super seasons at Marian College as well, where he was an all-conference player and a participant in the home run derby at the College World Series.
Currently a Walgreen’s store manager, Bischoff resides in Appleton with his wife Jackie and son Brody.

The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League.
