Posted: July 29, 2012

The Sheboygan A’s (30-22 overall) make their first time appearance in the Langsdorf League playoffs tonight when they take on the Kenosha Bobcats who battled Saturday to a 7-1 victory over the West Allis Nationals.

Gametime is 7:30 p.m. at Wildwood Park.

Derek Loomans (4-0, 1.41) is scheduled to start for the A’s tonight.

Kenosha has taken two of three games against the A’s this season, winning both by 3-2 scores. The A’s victory was a 7-0 win at Wildwood Baseball Park.

The A’s travel to Menasha for Northeastern Game Monday night, and then, if they win tonight, launch a best-of-three championship against the Kenosha Kings the rest of the week (Tuesday at Kenosha, Thursday at Wildwood, and Saturday, if necessary, at Kenosha). Next Sunday night the A’s play their final Northeastern Wisconsin League game at Manitowoc, a make-up of a game that was rained out earlier this season.

A’s supporters are reminded that “The Snipe” golf outing is Sunday, Aug. 19. Foursomes can sign up at any time at the ball park or send their registration to the A’s at PO Box 32, Sheboygan (53082-0032). Also coming up is the Sept. 2 bus excursion to the Brewers/Pirates game. The club is hoping to fill four buses. Cost is $55 for ticket, coach transportation and tailgate party. Register at the park or by mail. Checks should be made out to Sheboygan Athletic Club.

The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. The A's have helped develop more than 43 players that have reached professional baseball, including 2002 World Series Champion Jarrod Washburn (Anaheim Angels). All Sheboygan A's home games are played at Wildwood Baseball Park in Sheboygan. Connect with the A's on FacebookTwitterInstagram and YouTube.
