In a thrilling game on Monday at Wildwood Park, the Sheboygan A’s secured a dramatic 9-8 walk-off victory over the Menasha Macs. The game was tied at eight in the bottom of the ninth when Gus Walker singled to drive in the winning run, his second walk-off hit in two days.

The A’s jumped ahead in the first inning with Harry Steldt’s two-run single. Menasha quickly responded with a home run to tie the game at two in the second inning. Menasha took the lead in the fourth on another solo home-run, putting them up 3-2.

Walker’s single in the bottom of the fourth tied the game again at three.

Keeping with the back and forth nature of the game, Menasha regained the lead in the sixth, scoring three, but the A’s stormed back in the bottom of the eighth, scoring five runs to take an 8-7 lead, highlighted by a two-run single from Sean Tillmon and an RBI double from Steldt. Menasha responded in the top of the ninth to tie the game at eight, setting the stage for Walker’s heroics.

Joey Pettit earned the win for Sheboygan A’s, allowing one hit and one run over two and two-thirds innings of relief, striking out five. Noah Imrie started for the A’s, allowing six runs over six innings while striking out 10.

Walker and Steldt each collected three hits for Sheboygan, with Tillmon and Steldt each driving in three runs.
