Late Surge Powers A’s to Big Win

Held to just one hit through the first four innings, the A’s found themselves trailing, 5-0, but then they went berserk the rest of the way and ran up a 17-8 Wisconsin State League win over the Barons of Burlington Wednesday night in Burlington.
After Burlington’s 5-0 Lead, the teams traded small numbers and with the A’s trailing 8-4 after six, they hit he Barons with a 7-run seventh and added a 5-run ninth to complete the rout.
Jimmy Juergensen had three hits and Harry Steldt, Jake Arens and Logan Vietmeier all had a pair. Vietmeier and Arens both drove in three runs.
The win went to Derek Loomans, the second of three A’s pitcher on the night.
The 2019 season, presented by Meijer, continues Saturday when the A’s travel to Addison, IL for a four-game WSL weekend with the Addison Braves. The A’s are also on the road Tuesday (Appleton) and Wednesday (De Pere) before finally returning home Thursday to take on the West Allis Nationals. Thursday’s game will feature the Curiosity Cube presented by MilliporeSigma. The Curiosity Cube is a retrofitted shipping container that has been turned into a Mobil Science lab – aiming to bring hands on science experiments to kids all across the country.
