A’s Release 2016 Schedule

Sheboygan, WI – The Sheboygan A’s are gearing up for what
could play out to a 62-game 2016 schedule.

The city’s semi-pro baseball team that competes in the Wisconsin
State League
and the Northeastern Wisconsin League will play a minimum of 53 regular
season games. Non-league, tournament and playoff games will round out the
schedule.

The A’s open with an eight-game home stand, starting with
the first of this season’s four non-league games on Saturday May 21 against the
Appleton Legends, followed by their State League opener against the West Allis
Nationals on Friday June 27. The other three non-league games will be played on
Wednesday June 1 against the Plymouth Flames, Monday June 20 against the Two
Rivers Polar Bears, and Friday July 29 against the Little Chute River Bandits.

This year for the first time, the A’s will participate in
and host part of the Wisconsin Amateur Baseball Classic, West Bend’s 24-team
tournament featuring some of the top baseball team’s from around the Midwest.
The tournament is split into six pools of four teams, with each team playing
one game against the other teams in its pool. The A’s will host one of the pools
on Friday and Saturday July 15-16. If the A’s advance, they would play in West
Bend that Sunday.

The A’s will once again host the Wisconsin State League
Challenge on July 8-10 when all Wisconsin State League teams will be in town
competing in regular season games. The WSL regular season is 30 games in total,
with each team playing each other five times.

Northeastern Wisconsin League play opens up on June 2 at
home against the Green Bay Storm. The A’s and Menasha Macs, who have met each
of the last three years in the NEWBL finals, will first meet on June 6 in
Sheboygan. The NEWBL regular season schedule will again consist of a 20-game
regular season, with each team playing each other four times. The NEWBL
playoffs will begin Monday Aug. 1 with single-elimination seeded quarter- and
semi-final games. The best-of-three championship series starts Aug. 5.

All Monday – Friday A’s home games will begin at 7:30 PM.

Also new this year is the Wisconsin State League
Invitational Tournament at the end of the season. Details on the tournament
will be released at a later date.

The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League.
