Oshkosh Whips A’s, 11-6

OSHKOSH – After playing superior baseball over the weekend,
the same Sheboygan A’s who swept the
field in the Wisconsin State League Challenge over the weekend turned in
a sub-par performance here Tuesday night against the Oshkosh Giants.
Despite
indecisive approaches offensively and defensive lapses that bordered on inept,
the A’s led this game until the Giants hit them with a big 3-run fifth inning
turned it around and an even bigger 6-run seventh inning plunged the dagger.
After
three innings the A’s had a couple doubles, a home run by Taylor Grimm and a 4-2
lead.
But
Robbie Kleeman, who has been a thorn in the A’s side since he became a Giant
hit a 3-run home run in the fifth to give the Giants a lead they would not lose
and, in fact, increase with a 6-run sixth. Four A’s errors augmented a 14-hit Giant
attack. Kleeman had two singles, a double and a home run for the Giants and
Jeremy McCarty two singles and a double.
Weston
Nelson had three hits for the A’s, Dan Barwick and Blake Fleischman both a
double and single, Grimm a home run and Wyatt Olson a double.
Matt
Sabol went all the way for the win; Taylor Schwars took the loss.
Now
22-13 for the season, the A’s travel to Manitowoc Wednesday and host Green Bay
Thursday.
