Keep the faith.
Things weren’t looking good for the Sheboygan A’s, until they cashed in with a 6-run eighth inning to take a 7-5 Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League win over Manitowoc at Wildwood Baseball Park Wednesday night.
A Harry Steldt base hit, coupled with a Manitowoc error gave the A’s a 1-0 lead in the first, but Manitowoc bunched some hits for three runs in the third and two more in the fifth to take a 5-1 lead.
The A’s hit atom balls for the first seven innings, but in the eighth they started to fall. Greg Rhude led off with a base hit and after one out, Cole Heili, Steldt and Chad Langley followed with hits and after a couple walks and a hit batsman, the A’s had six runs and 7-5 win.
Eric Schmitz, the A’s third pitcher of the game, got the win.
The A’s host the Langsdorf League of Southeastern Wisconsin vs. Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League All-Star Game on Friday night and then hit the road for five games over the weekend. After winning four straight, the A’s go into the weekend with a 15-15 record.
