A’s Alumni Report: Feb. 18

The Sheboygan A’s alumni report takes a look at how many former and current Sheboygan A’s alum are doing in their collegiate seasons. Early editions will be mostly about former players until the A’s roster starts to take shape. As the season draws closer, we will look more at how new and returning A’s players are doing in spring action.

University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (NCAA Division 1)
All eight former/current Sheboygan A’s on UWM’s roster saw action in their season opening series at New Mexico State. The Panthers split the four game series against the Aggies.

Derek Peake (2011) – Appeared in all four games, starting three … collected six hits in 11 at-bats … was 2-2 on stolen base attempts.

Alex Erdmann (2010) – Saw action as both a position player and a pitcher … was 3-9 at the plate with one RBI … pitched 1.2 innings allowing one run.

Ryan Solberg (2011) – Started three games … was 4-14 with two RBI … had seven put outs defensively.

Jon Capasso (2012) – Started two games … went 2-10 at the plate … had one RBI.

Drew Pearson (2012) – Appeared in three games, starting one … was 1-3 at the plate with one RBI … had two walks.

Trevor Theissen (2012) – Saw his first collegiate action … went 0-2 in two at-bats.

Eric King (2010) – Started one game on the mound … pitched one inning … recorded two strikeouts.

Josh Uhen (2010) – Made two relief appearances in two games … pitched 1.2 innings … allowed one earned run … struck out three.

University of Illinois-Chicago (NCAA Division 1)
Collin Weyer (2011) – Did not make an appearance in UIC’s three game series at 24th ranked Texas A&M.

University of Evansville (NCAA Division 1)
Cole Heili (2012) – Did not make an appearance in their three game series at Arkansas-Little Rock.

The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. The A's have helped develop more than 43 players that have reached professional baseball, including 2002 World Series Champion Jarrod Washburn (Anaheim Angels).
