RACINE – Justin Hunt’s sixth inning home run broke up a 4-4 tie and sparked the Sheboygan A’s to a 7-4 Langsdorf League win over the Racine Kiwanis here Tuesday night.
The win puts the A’s at 20-17 for the season and 7-5 in the Langsdorf League.
Most of the A’s are idle tonight as the club looks to its next test Thursday night at Kenosha against the first place Kings. Dillion Engle, Chad Langley, Harry Steldt, Trevor Theissen and Brandon Winfield are in action tonight with the Wisconsin State League All-Stars as they take on the Chicago Suburban League All-Stars in Kenosha.
On Friday, the A’s will host the Northeastern Wisconsin League vs. Langsdorf League all-stars. The Sheboygan contingent will remain the same except for Theissen, who will be replaced by Ryan Schilter.
The A’s spotted Racine for runs in the first inning last night, but four A’s pitchers – Jake Schaefer, Ryan DeRosa, Derek Looans and Brandon Winfield shut down Racine the rest of the night.
The A’s recovered from their bad start and tied the game in the third inning and remained tie until Hunt’s home run in the sixth. The A’s tacked on two more in the eighth.
Hunt with a double to go with his home run, and Jon Capasso and Chad Langley had two hits.
