The suddenly gelling Sheboygan A’s were the beneficiaries of another outstanding pitching performance and that, coupled with a 7-run sixth inning, got them a 10-2 Langsdorf League win over the Genoa City Red Dogs Thursday night.
The win ups the A’s to 3-3 in the Langsdorf and 9-6 for the season.
Tonight they have another Langsdorf clash, this one against the Burlington Barons. Game time at Wildwood Park is 7:30 and A’s fans will be given the opportunity to assist local cancer fighting groups as it is Think Pink Strike Out Cancer Night. The night is intended to honor cancer survivors, their families and care givers.
The A’s erupted for 14 hits last night, five of them along with a walk and a hit batsman coming in the big sixth inning when the club sent 11 hitters to the plate. Drew Pearson led the assault with four hits and Justin Hunt had three.
Dillion Engle was brilliant in getting his third win of the season against no losses. He struck out 12, and allowed only five hits in his seven innings. Sam Raff was perfect in two innings of relief.
