A’s fall 1-0 to Kenosha Kings

Posted: June 8, 2012

For the second time in three days the Sheboygan A’s played a road game in Kenosha.

For the second time in three days they came home a loser by one run.

Thursday night it was the Kenosha Kings, Thursday night it was 1-0.

The patched up A’s line-up managed only five hits off the Kenosha pitching combination of Travis Vanderwall and Sean Kennedy, yet they had numerous scoring opportunities and had two men thrown out at the plate.

What made the loss even harder to take was that the A’s had great pitching of their own.

Due to no shows and a traffic jam, skipper Kyle Trewyn had to call on Brandon Winfield to start. Brandon Winfield gave the A’s five solid innings Tuesday night, but answered the call and threw three shutout innings last night before turning the ball over to Ben Stanczyk. Stanczyk pitched well, but was nicked for the game’s only run.

The A’s, now 5-4 for the season, play at Green Bay tonight against the Storm in a Northeastern Wisconsin League matchup.
