Each week leading up to the season, SheboyganBaseball.org will look at how some Sheboygan A’s alumni, and A’s signed on for the current season are doing in their collegiate and professional seasons.
Wisconsin Timber Rattlers Chad Pierce (2006) has made the opening day roster for the Milwaukee Brewers Class A affiliate, the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, based out of Appleton, Wisconsin.
Pierce, who was drafted in the 38th round of the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers, pithced last season for the Helena Brewers of the Rookie Pioneer League.

Derek Peake (2011) came back from from a broken finger to start all three games on the weekend.
Peake went 3-10 at the plate, with one run scored.
Valparaiso University Kevin Wild (2009, 2010) took a 4-2 loss on the mound against Wright State, despite allowing only two runs on five hits while striking out seven. Wild’s record now stands at 1-1 after seven starts for the Crusaders.
Marian University Mitch Gardner (2009-present) pitched eight strong innings in a 3-2 win over Wisconsin Lutheran.
Gardner threw eight innings, allowing 2 runs on seven hits while striking out five. Gardner improved his record to 1-0.
Josh Gruenke, who will join the A’s for his first season this summer, is batting .333 in his freshman campaign for the Sabers. Gruenke has started 15 of his teams 16 games.
University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point Ryan Schilter (2010, 2011) is hitting .400 for the Pointers, starting all 14 games. He has six doubles, two triples and a home run.
Schilter is tied for second on the team in batting average.
The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. The A's have helped develop more than 43 players that have reached professional baseball, including 2002 World Series Champion Jarrod Washburn (Anaheim Angels).
