
Bandits Batter A’s

The Manitowoc Bandits banged out at least one hit in every inning and finished with 17 to beat up on the Sheboygan A’s by a 9-3 score at Manitowoc’s Municipal Field Tuesday night.
The win boosts the first place Bandits to 8-2 in the Wisconsin State League and to 9-1 in the Northeastern Wisconsin League. The loss drops the floundering A’s to 4-4 in the WSL, 3-5 in the NEW and 11-9 overall.
The Bandits came from an early 2-1 deficit to put crooked numbers on the scoreboard in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to walk away with the win.
Only Derek Peake had a good night for the A’s, coming in 3-for-5 with two doubles and a triple.
The A’s will try to bounce back Thursday night against Kewaskum at Wildwood Park. Thursday is Military Appreciation Night with all veterans admitted free. It is also Thrivent Financial Food Pantry Night. Fans are encouraged to bring a food item to donate to the drive. Thrivent will be offering ice cream to fans before the game.
After that the A’ host Eau Claire for a 4-game series this weekend.
The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. The A's have helped develop more than 43 players that have reached professional baseball, including 2002 World Series Champion Jarrod Washburn (Anaheim Angels).
