A’s Nearing Full Strength; Pound Menasha
Posted: June 9, 2008
Skipper Chad Gehr welcomed three more members of the 2008 Sheboygan A’s roster to the line-up Monday night in Menasha and they immediately made their presence known.
Helping the A’s pound Menasha by a 12-0 score were:
Eric Dayton, who was with the A’s last year and spent the last 10 days with the Wausau Woodchucks of the Northwoods League, started his first game this season and finished it, shutting out the normally hard-hitting MACs on four hits, striking out nine in the 7-inning affair.
Sam Radbil, who was with the A’s last year and spent the last 10 days with the St. Cloud River Bats, returned and contributed two singles, a double and drove in a run.
And Shawn Wozniak, UW-Milwaukee’s first baseman who is coming off a hamstring injury, played his first game and cracked a single, double and home run to score three runs and drive in three.
Also making huge contrubitions were Lucas Wilsing with three base hits, Tim Patzman with a single and double, Grant Berkovitz and Matt Schilter with triples and Graham Bintilff with a double.
The win puts the A’s at 9-4 for the season and 5-1 in the Northeastern Wisconsin League.
The club travels to Manitowoc tonight for a 7:30 contest against the Bandits who are unbeaten in 12 starts this season. On Wednesday night in Kenosha three more players will be available for the first time this season: pitchers Aaron Sorenson, Ben Stanczyk and Adam Ferrell.
